West Indies win toss in 1st ODI, to bat 1st at the WACA Ground against Australia

PERTH, Australia - West Indies captain Darren Sammy has won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the teams' opening limited-overs international at the WACA Ground on Friday.

Fast bowler James Faulkner will make his international debut and was handed his ODI cap by former bowling great Dennis Lillee, a West Australian.

The West Indies have won 10 of their 17 one-day internationals at the WACA. The teams will play five one-day matches in the series, including another Sunday in Perth.
