Jackson Cup champion Cowichan FC was attempting to become the first Island team to win the Province Cup since Gorge FC captured four B.C. championships between 2001 and 2010.

In the men’s Province Masters Cup semifinals, Croatia from the Lower Mainland defeated Saanich Fusion 5-1. Surrey United edged Victoria Highlanders 1-0 in the U-21 provincial semifinals.

Port Alberni defeated Langley 3-2 in penalty kicks in the men’s B semifinals to advance.

In the women’s Province Cup semifinals, 11-time defending champion Surrey United defeated Victoria Athletics 8-1 in Cloverdale, while North Shore bounced Victoria Highlanders 5-1 at Royal Athletic Park.

The women’s Province Cup championship games in all categories are Saturday and the men’s on Sunday, all in Langley.
