CALGARY - The Canadian World Cup teams in bobsled and skeleton were unveiled Wednesday morning in a ceremony at Calgary's Old City Hall.
In skeleton, Jon Montgomery, of Russell, Man., Jeff Pain, of Calgary, and Mike Douglas, of Toronto, will race for Canada on the World Cup circuit. On the women's side, Mellisa Hollingsworth leads a group that includes Amy Gough, of Abbotsford, B.C. and Sarah Reid, of Calgary.
Pierre Lueders, of Edmonton, will once again pilot the Canada 1 bobsled with assistance from David Bissett, of Edmonton, Justin Kripps, of Summerland, B.C., Ken Kotyk, of Rama, Sask., and Neville Wright, of Edmonton.
The Canada 2 sled is piloted by Lyndon Rush, of Humboldt, Sask. His crew includes Calgarians Lascelles Brown, Chris Le Bihan and Dan Humphries along with Bret Bresciani, of Okotoks, Alta.
In women's bobsled, Helen Upperton returns to the pilot's seat in the Canada 1 sled. She is joined by fellow pilots Kaillie Humphries and Amanda Stepenko. Pushers include Shelley-Ann Brown, of Pickering, Ont., Jenny Ciochetti, of Edmonton, Heather Moyse, of Summerside, P.E.I., Amanda Moreley, of Surrey, B.C., Heather Patterson, of Guelph, Ont., Veronique Fortin, of Gatineau, Que., and Sabrina Notarangelo, of Windsor, Ont.
The World Cup season kicks off Nov. 9 in Park City, Utah.
