Psy, the South Korean musician and dancing phenomenon of Gangnam Style video fame, and his own “sexy lady,” wife Hye-yeon Yoo, have bought a place in a 1989 building in Westwood for $1.249 million.
The Blair House condo features city views, high ceilings, a den, a balcony, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The contemporary complex offers a saltwater swimming pool, a tennis court, a gym, a doorman and concierge services.
The singer-songwriter-rapper, 34, is the first YouTube user to exceed one billion views. Psy will star in an ad for pistachios to be aired Feb. 3 during the Super Bowl.
The property last changed hands in 1999 for $950,000, records show.
Spacex founder finds a space
Billionaire entrepreneur and inventor Elon Musk has paid $17 million for a mansion in Bel-Air.
Built in 1990 and remodelled with entertaining in mind, the 20,248-square-foot house features a two-storey library, a theatre, a library/study, a wine cellar, a gym, seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The 1.7-acre property includes a tennis court, a swimming pool and an expansive motor court.
Musk, 41, founded Hawthorne rocket maker Space Exploration Technologies Corp., known as SpaceX. He co-founded electric-car company Telsa Motors Inc. and the Internet payment company that would become PayPal.
iTeenage buyer lands in the Hills
“iCarly” star Miranda Cosgrove joined the ranks of teenage home buyers with the purchase of a house in Hollywood Hills for $2.65 million.
The 1952 traditional-style home has nearly 3,000 square feet of living space and sits on more than a quarter of an acre. Features include a media room with a wet bar, formal living and dining rooms, three en suite bedrooms and a powder room. There is a swimming pool and a covered pavilion with a flat-screen TV.
Cosgrove, 19, did commercial work before appearing in the film The School of Rock (2003). She starred as Carly Shay on the Nickelodeon series beginning in 2007.
Neutra suits his style
The Richard Neutra-designed Singleton House in Bel-Air has been purchased by billionaire and luxury goods titan François Pinault for $16.5 million.
Hair industry magnate Vidal Sassoon and his wife, Rhonda, bought the Mid-century Modern style home in 2004 for $6 million, according to public records.
The renovated 6,400-square-foot house sits on 5.2 acres with a swimming pool and spa. A path of concrete stepping-stones continues over a reflecting pond to terrace space by the pool. Features include expanses of glass walls, a media room, four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Pinault, 76, founded PPR, which owns high-end brands such as Gucci. Vidal Sassoon died in May at 94.
Restless forher next redo?
Actor Michelle Stafford of The Young and the Restless has bought a house in Glendale for $926,500.
The two-storey house with basement was commissioned by a Loma Linda Hospital doctor and built in 1948. Other medical professionals bought or lived in the house over the years, earning it the nickname The Doctor’s House.
Stafford has a history of restoring older homes.
The two-storey Monterey Colonial-style house of nearly 3,000 square feet features a central hall, a formal dining room, an updated kitchen, a den, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. There are patios, a front lawn and a backyard swimming pool.
Stafford, 47, has been protraying the scheming Phyllis since 1994 on the daytime soap opera.
