The thought of people enthusiastically slaughtering and terrorizing these beautiful, social and intelligent animals for prize money is beyond sad.
Given that people are after the biggest wolves, the strongest of the species will be removed, weakening the gene pool. A “booby prize” of $150 is given to the person who slaughters the smallest wolf, which encourages the killing of the pups.
I had hoped the human race was moving above this type of “sport.”
