Re: "Dream kitchens come true," Dec. 1.
I've heard for years about the necessity of a "work triangle" in a kitchen, reinforced in the article. The National Kitchen and Bath Association recommends a maximum of three metres between fridge, stove and sink. Any more results in "a lot of wasted steps."
Wasted time, too, which could cut into one's time at, say, the gym. Having to walk too much between the sink and fridge is bad, while walking on a stair-master at the gym is good.
In other countries, people walk kilometres for water. We get ourselves in a knot if we have to walk more than three metres to turn on a tap.
Holy moly, are we spoiled, or what?
