I found it interesting that View Royal would consider the $200-million rental-housing plan that would triple the amount of traffic to and from Christie Point.
Five years ago, when View Royal introduced “traffic calming” on the Island Highway, the mayor said it was because the citizens of View Royal didn’t want more traffic driving through his town. How does the current council justify the tripling of traffic on a road that was meant to discourage traffic, not add to it?
Spending $500,000 on a new traffic light at the Shoreline Drive intersection is only going to add to the existing bottleneck at Craigflower and Admirals.
I guess money talks.
