Victorians should join fight against dumping

Where are the voices of Victoria in the fight to stop a contaminated-soil dump at the Stebbings Road South Island Aggregates site?

Do you not realize that the underground aquifer is closer to Sooke Lake than Shawnigan?

We at Shawnigan Lake are more susceptible to surface runoff, but Victoria’s water supply is just as at risk, maybe even more at risk. All you need to do is look at a topographical map.

This is a south Island issue. The potential for contaminating two watersheds, servicing hundreds of thousands of people, is frightening.

Mary Polak and the Ministry of Environment are not protecting us from polluters but exposing us to them.
