Unseat Tories and reform electoral system

Like the letter-writer who lauds the Greens for relinquishing self-interest to avoid splitting votes in an effort to unseat the Conservatives, I am pleased to see this kind of co-operation.

I am extremely concerned that the rise of support for the Green party will steal votes from the other progressive parties and we will end up with another term with Stephen Harper at the helm. (God forbid!)

Elizabeth May is a stellar MP and an inspiration to many, but at this point — and for this election only — I wish she would look at doing something similar in several ridings in British Columbia. Two NDP incumbents in Greater Victoria, Randall Garrison and Murray Rankin, are at risk of losing their seats because of a split Green/NDP vote.

Surely it would be better for the Green party to look at co-operating in close ridings this time around so that we can move forward with election reform and get Canada back on track.
