Two things spring to mind. The first is the same disappointment Times Colonist editor Dave Obee feels, but the second is why he’s surprised.
In an open forum of being able to communicate our thoughts and beliefs, whatever they might be, one is bound to receive communications that are not of the same ilk as our own.
Evil is out there, whatever he may choose to believe, and all that has been achieved is making sure he doesn’t hear of it.
As he has the upper hand in all information that might be printed in his newspaper, could he not feel that unloading on him means that the writer might not send this vitriol elsewhere?
His decision will change nothing, other than pushing it elsewhere. We all have the right to think in our own ways, not always Christian thoughts, either, but hate is out there and his plan won’t be of any help.
