Upon reading the article, I was struck that the TransLink public-transit fleet in Metro Vancouver was testing diesel double-decker buses.

In Victoria, CVS Tour company, in conjunction with the Victoria Harbour Authority and Vancouver-based Greenpower Motor Company, has just completed a successful trial year with Greenpower’s first all-electric, zero-emission double-decker bus.

The trial was so successful on routes to Butchart Gardens and city tours that CVS has ordered two more of the largest capacity (100+ passenger), electric double-decker buses.

Vancouver should not only be looking at high-capacity passenger transport, but also why not triple the benefits with zero emissions, zero noise pollution, not to mention supporting local business.
