Texting addiction a danger to others

Re: “Addicted to text,” Dec. 16.

The article concerning addiction to texting among young people for eight to 10 hours a day echoed the previous concern in a column by Gwyn Morgan and also an earlier piece on the present high incidence of traffic accidents by distracted drivers, often young ones.

It appears that distracted driving now accounts for more fatal accidents than drunk driving. Perhaps it is time for MADD — Mothers Against Drunk Driving — to upgrade their logo to read Mothers Against Distracted Driving, which could include drunk driving as a part of distraction.

We all need to pay attention 100 per cent of the time while driving an automobile.
