Re: "Noisy leaf blowers disturb the peace," Dec. 5.
While I sympathize with the writer of this letter, I must say that if this is the only noise that disturbs our peace, then we don't have much to complain about.
Imagine living in places where, instead of waking up to the inconvenience of leaf blowers, we were awakened by the assaulting sound of air-raid sirens, bombs dropping and screaming in the streets. I'm sure those living in Israel, Palestine and Syria, to name a few, would be elated if the leaf blower was the only "assault" they faced each day.
I'll take the noise disturbance of the 7: 30 a.m. leaf blowers any day.
