Society offers help to youths in transition

It pains me so much to hear of teens in foster care, with families that cannot care for them, abandoned by the system and care agencies, and pretty much left to fend for themselves. Imagine the despair that they feel, the acute sense of aloneness.

No teenager should have to find themselves in this position, especially when transitional services are available.

At the Threshold Housing Society, we have the privilege of providing a home for youth at risk of homelessness. We serve youth who are determined to finish school and become established in careers.

These are kids who are couch-surfing their way through high school, have parents who have challenges of their own, or families where they don’t fit in. At Threshold they get a safe home with people who care, learn to live on their own and with others.

I encourage people to learn more about what we do, and how they can help by going to thresholdhousing.ca.
