Sludge-plant impact is very personal

Don’t make it personal?

I personally stand to lose $150,000 equity in my home, according to the Capital Regional District’s own figures, should the sludge plant be built on Viewfield Road.

I personally will smell the sludge plant, at the very least on the days they clean the filters.

I personally have to live near a facility generating methane gas, which can explode, as happened in Idaho in 2010.

I personally might not be able to rent my suite should my tenant decide to leave.

I personally might face a readjusted mortgage rate should my assessment fall outside of the bank’s comfort zone.

I personally might not be able to sell my home.

I personally might not be able to retire for many more years because of this.

The editorial is completely correct. This should not be personal, and in order for that to happen, the CRD needs to get another plan that doesn’t put this in anyone’s backyard, making it very, very personal.
