Re: "Victoria urged to slow traffic near school," Nov. 15.
Bravo to all who are looking into this.
I went to George Jay Elementary School in the '80s and have wondered since that time why there was no reduced speed posted on Cook Street. It really is a wonder that a child hasn't been killed in all these years. I remember, many a time, doing crossing guard duty for a cup of hot chocolate and having cars whip through at 50 km/h or more as we stood in the street, flags out. Slowing down to 30 km/h for a block or two isn't going to ruin a driver's day and it may just save a life.
