Oak Bay has increased fines for feeding deer, which is a good thing, but might be hard to enforce. On the other hand, the mayor is still concerned, and rightly so, about motor-vehicle accidents involving deer. But what is he doing about it?

The number 1 spot for deer-vehicle accidents is highly travelled Cadboro Bay Road, and motorists are still driving above the limit.

Police presence and enforcement are seemingly non-existent.

The speed limit must be reduced and better signs installed. If the mayor really wants to cut down on these accidents, what is he waiting for?
