Retired U.S. Marine Corps officer salutes Canadians who serve

On Rememberance Day, my Veterans' Day, we pause to give thanks to those remarkable men and women who have served their nation and helped preserve our societies. This tribute is warranted and worthy.

On Rememberance Day, my Veterans' Day, we pause to give thanks to those remarkable men and women who have served their nation and helped preserve our societies. This tribute is warranted and worthy. As a career officer in the United States Marine Corps, I have witnessed this sacrifice first hand and am overwhelmed with the selfless devotion to duty exhibited by so many. Without them we would not be who we are and our daily lives would be far from what we take for granted today in both of our countries. To my Canadian allies and friends, I salute you. No professional warrior has had a better friend and companion in arms. On behalf of all my countrymen, especially those of us who have answered the call of our nation, we thank you for your steadfast dedication, professionalism and willingness to stand tall against all odds. You have earned my deepest respect and gratitude. Semper Fidelis.
