Public sleeps while old forests are logged

Re: “Old growth near Cathedral Grove set for imminent logging: activists,” March 13.

Thanks for the sad story. More senseless, shallow planning by our provincial leaders running Beautiful B.C.

It’s not surprising this magnificent, brave stand of old growth is being chipped away by Island Timberlands, a company that’s already legally logged most of the Shawnigan Lake and Koksilah areas.

It seems forest corporations won’t be satisfied until every tree is cut for profits, while our government and apathetic citizens remain asleep.
