Pot lounges proposal an absurd idea

There aren’t enough words in the English language to describe what an asinine idea this is.

Not that many years ago, businesses in the service industry had to jump through any number of hoops to have smoking sections, which were all phased out eventually because of the harm of second-hand smoke, and now, our city council thinks it’s a good idea to have licensed pot lounges because …?

It is bad enough that smoking pot doesn’t fall under the clean-air act, so users are permitted to smoke anywhere and everywhere downtown, and in the parks, and in the bus shelters, and right next door to city hall, without apparent repercussions. Now tell me that isn’t idiotic.

Am I to assume that pot smoke only harms the user and the second-hand smoke simply dissipates into the air, leaving no harmful markers for those who innocently walk by?

Please reconsider spending our tax dollars pursuing what is to all intents and purposes one of the most absurd ideas coming from city council.
