Re: "Geese, deer damage force Galeys to scale back farm," Dec. 6.
The stories of Rob Galey and other local farmers having to reduce production because of goose and deer damage are very sad.
Politicians hope to please everyone, but they are going to have to make some hard decisions very soon. In the late 1970s living on the Esquimalt Lagoon, I was delighted to see two Canada geese fly in occasionally. I had never seen a Canada goose.
At this moment there are 25 geese dining on our lawns and fouling our driveways and the street with their droppings. The same goes for deer. I know this story is not unique.
I urge politicians at all levels to get on with their decisions, rather than playing around with suggestions that we have all tried before.
