Pipeline best way to transport oil

I support renewable energy and less reliance on oil, but oil is still required and demand is growing.

Last month, I travelled to the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador. I took the attached photo of oil being shipped down the Napo River. Also attached is a photo of the Trans Mountain pipeline near Jasper, Alta., which shares a corridor with a railway.

Ecuador sells its oil to China. Canada has an opportunity to sell and ship oil to China, but can’t without a new pipeline. Canada also has the some of the most strict regulatory and environmental rules in the world for energy exploration and  production.

I worry about the world and not just my back yard. Look at these photos and tell me which is a better way to transport something that is not soon going away.
