It’s easy to say: “Let’s get rid of staff as they cost us too much money.”
The same person that collects tickets in the parkade is also a taxpayer in the community. The same ticket collector also shops at the local grocery store, has a family and housing, not to mention helping to sustain the Canada Pension Plan.
I’ve never waited more than five minutes in the parkade lineup, whether it’s a ticket collector at View Street or the automated parkade at Johnson. These are real people we are talking about, not just statistics on a piece of paper.
