Lower speed limit a lot less extreme

Chris Foord, vice-chairman of the Capital Regional District traffic safety commission, suggests that a solution to dangers on the road near Goldstream Park is a new highway that perhaps runs through part of park and the watershed-reserve land.

Wow! Why not try something a lot less extreme first? How about lowering the speed limit for 1000 metres or so near the park so that any collisions are far less likely to result in rollovers that shut down the highway?

Surely we can throw a little bit of common sense at this problem before we float out the idea of a billion-dollar project that will destroy much of a treasured park and watershed-reserve land.
