Re: “Residency questions mount for senators,” Feb. 9.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper is always looking to cut costs to decrease federal spending: cutting Sidney’s Centre for Plant Health, cuts to some veterans services, cuts to coast guard services in Vancouver’s Kitsilano area, cuts to the CBC and many other federal public services. Cut, cut, cut.
Why doesn’t he show some real guts and press the delete button on Canada’s richest welfare agency, otherwise known as the Senate? The cheers would be heard across Canada on this cut that would bring some real savings.
Don’t wait, though. It makes too much sense.
