Island’s big trees shouldn’t be ignored

I am amazed that we still have to talk and agitate about conserving our valuable, ancient, now relatively rare, big trees in 2013 after decades of discussion.

Also perplexing is where there are still big trees, tourism infrastructure is still minimal or non-existent. On the other hand, why isn’t there an entire, serious and permanent hall dedicated to our big trees in the Royal B.C. Museum?

This is one of our biggest stories after all and what many of our visitors want to see and learn about.
