Increase service on Mill Bay ferry

We drive the Malahat out of necessity, and much prefer the little Mill Bay/Brentwood ferry to save time and avoid congestion.

However, this ferry is only in operation daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It takes about 19 vehicles, depending on size, on a half-hour ocean “cruise.”

Why on earth doesn’t B.C. Ferries get on top of this problem and add more times, especially on peak summer days? Not everyone wants to come home at 6 p.m.

We have taken it several times over the past weeks (a short and efficient route to the airport and Swartz Bay). But now are faced with at least a one- or two-ferry wait.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to address this. Maybe our new government will listen.
