Immigrants make this country magnificent

Kudos to columnist David Bly. As he states, we are all immigrants, and that’s what makes this country magnificent, contrary to the petty, narrow-minded dialogue that is coming out of Ottawa.

The majority of Canadians value freedom of religion, even if we not always agree with some of religion’s premises.

Immigrants are the backbone of this country and Canadians are compassionate toward refugees who are fleeing war and oppression.

On the same day, I read that Wayne Gretzky is endorsing Stephen Harper. Shame on him to allow himself to be used for political purposes, even though the so-called Fair Elections Act prohibits him from voting. My respect for Gretzky has been greatly diminished.

Change is what’s needed in Ottawa and I hope that many, many Canadians will exercise their democratic right to vote.
