So how much did this all cost us? As I was driving down the highway, maintenance crews and police were all over the place redirecting us with signs and traffic cones. This level of “service” is not free.
Regardless of the (il)legality that closing the Pat Bay Highway raises, the fact that police and highway maintenance staff were required to work — probably extra hours — raises the cost issue. I am sure that we, the taxpayer, paid for this. The question is, how much and can I send an invoice to the Tsawout First Nation for my share?
