Well, that didn’t take long.
Almost the first thing the new NDP premier did was to put a bunch of friends and colleagues on the public payroll to “co-ordinate” the agreement made with the Green Party to be able to form a government.
There are more people doing the co-ordinating than there are Green members in the legislature. Surely, co-ordinating a limited policy agreement with a tiny group of three members who already have a leader to guide them is as easy as the premier calling up Andrew Weaver once a week and asking: “What’s up?”
I fear that this blatant dipping into the public purse to pay off friends and fellow lefties is just the first step in a continuing exercise that will last as long as the premier and his government can make it last.
Hold onto your wallets, folks. It’s going to be an expensive ride.
