I agree with Prof. David Bird that our national bird should be the gray jay and its Canada jay name should be reinstated.
Or maybe we could use the name it has had up north — camp robber. The cheeky bird would forage through a hunter or trapper’s camp while they were away, stealing food carelessly left out.
Yes, the camp robber is definitely my first choice.
