Re: “Even garbage can go green,” Jan. 30.
This letter will serve as notice to my municipality that the kitchen in my residence has a garburator. I use it consistently and reliably to eliminate every bad kitchen scrap, so will not require any expensive government program to assist me with this endeavour.
In addition to reducing landfill content, my handy garburator prevents garbage-picking animals from creating a mess and maybe attracting predators, while also eliminating any need for specialized, subsidized containers and truck fleets and equipment and union-salaried pickup crews, thereby reducing my taxes.
In their drive to save the planet, it is a wonder that more municipalities do not research this matter, rather than pushing costly programs that are ideological and senseless.
