Gamblers indulged while people go hungry

Sunday’s front page had an interesting juxtaposition: a nice picture of people taking part in a walk held for the Coldest Night of the Year to help the hungry and homeless, and story about the B.C. Lottery Corp. encouraging an influx of high-rolling gamblers.

The corporation’s CEO said: “Casinos have increased the number of private rooms or ’salons’ and raised table limits. They also provide free food, rooms and other comps to keep high rollers happy.”

“Other comps” means what?

It is disgusting to think how greedy this government is. It gives the extras to those who are coming in to spend money gambling and leaves the hungry and homeless to fend for themselves.

Organized crime? Come on in.
