Dithering leaders prove need for amalgamation

As the region’s infrastructure crumbles, taxpayers yell “Not in my backyard!” and elected leaders dither, another example of inaction was illustrated on the front page of Saturday’s Times Colonist.

This time, sewage. Whether it’s poop, garbage, bridges or cops not able to communicate with each other on their crappy equipment, everything seems broken and dysfunctional. Is there any other Canadian capital that has 13 fiefdoms overseeing a grand total of 360,000 citizens?

Face it, the Capital Regional District does not work in the taxpayers’ interest. Suck it up, quit wasting time and money. Amalgamate!
