Discussion of pipelines has been one-sided

I have been struck by the seemingly one-sided nature of the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion discussion. Moral outrage and predictions of catastrophe appear to be dominant themes. Perhaps it’s time to reflect on a few alternative realities.

Perhaps it’s time to reflect on a few alternative realities. What fuel propelled the vehicles delivering protesters to all those demonstrations, or for that matter what fuels the planes delivering Elizabeth May back and forth to Ottawa?

What propels the many freighters that pass Victoria delivering material we use in our daily lives and exporting material produced in Canada, providing jobs for our fellow citizens? Every ship navigating the Juan de Fuca Strait contains substantial amounts of fossil fuel already.

When did coastal British Columbia stop being part of Canada, with obligations and responsibilities to the country as a whole?
