Developments choking streets with traffic

It’s time for city council and the mayor to stop this runaway development in Victoria. Traffic on Victoria streets has nearly reached saturation point, and gridlock is on the horizon. Now another 170 parking spots are projected for this one project alone.

It’s time for city officials to step up and stop this madness. The developers don’t care about it — they’re making money.

Quality of life for current residents is the issue here. There is not enough room on Victoria streets to accommodate more cars, and those who have them don’t want to give them up.

Let’s not ruin our city with this gentrification by monied interests. It’s time for a Victoria trust, like the ones Salt Spring Island and other places have, to prevent the city being overrun by monied interests, and respect the quality of life of those living here now.
