CRD giving away money for nothing

When we ask politicians to reduce taxes, they usually insult us by saying: “Do you want to reduce spending on policing, education, health care?”

No, we want you not to give our taxes away for nothing, which has happened with Seaterra. The only thing it has produced for $847,000 is a list of things we do not want.

On your front page, Albert Sweetnam is credited with doing extraordinary work and having outstanding negotiating skills, which he obviously used in setting up his contract.

In your editorial, you suggest that it is no use crying over the $500,000 severance. We should have objected before his contract was signed, but how do we get to know these details in advance. Aren’t they done behind closed doors?

Maybe there should have been a completion clause. It seems to me that he was hired to direct the design and building of a sewage system. If he were successful he would still be employed and the building would have been started.

Only on government contracts do you get a payoff if you fail.
