Re: "Tibetan woman dies after setting herself on fire," Nov. 18.
We have the freedom to demonstrate when our government is going against our wishes. This woman didn't.
When untoward suicides occur, we have investigations. This woman's death didn't merit an investigation. Neither did the other 75 Tibetans who have self-sacrificed asking for freedom, help from the Western countries and the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet.
Recently the UN high commissioner for human rights sent a message to the Chinese government calling for reduction of repressive measures in Tibet.
Why don't we hear more about this dire situation, especially when our federal government is paving the way for this same communist Chinese government to buy our natural resources and do big business here in Canada and British Columbia?
