Colwood ferry would be welcome

As a family of six living on the West Shore, we are strongly supportive of a ferry service between our region and Victoria.

Living in Metchosin, we see the development of Royal Bay turning into a congestion nightmare unless more transportation solutions are found that don’t rely on private cars. Every day, I drive along Royal Bay and notice that a ferry trip from this shoreline to Ogden Point would be about 20 minutes, dock to dock.

Instead, I sit in traffic jams for one hour to get to the same destination, adding pollution to the air and draining Greater Victoria’s economy and my family’s health and finances. We would love a walk-on ferry with room for bikes and connections to bus routes. If park-and-rides are added, even better.

This would be a fantastic solution to our transportation woes and the exponential population growth being experienced in the Western Communities. We would happily buy an annual pass for this ferry.
