Weeks ago, Washington state’s congressional delegation asked the premier to intervene to get facilities built. Clark has yet to respond.

The Township of Esquimalt asked the CRD in 2008 to use the McLoughlin site. After the CRD engaged in years of extensive planning and spent millions, Esquimalt recently reversed its position, and now blocks the regional project.

The site is already zoned for sewage treatment facilities. The issue is only minor setback variances.

Why is the premier not doing her job? The political buck stops at her desk. That is the position and responsibility she sought.
