Outrageous! Finance Minister Mike de Jong has so little trust in his civil-servant advisers that we must pay for an outsider to approve his income predictions? Why does he not take a pay cut to pay for his transparently face-saving ploy?

Of course, this is the same hapless gang that blew the roof off B.C. Place’s new-roof cost assertions, and the 2009 budget deficit they assured us would be (only) $496 million, then became nearly four times larger, so we have cause to doubt them.

I am prepared to believe the newly hired bean counter, but not the Liberals. They have proven their ability to be liberal with our money, budgets be damned. Next May, let’s liberate us from them.
