About 45 years ago, I was driving behind a transport truck that slammed into the Vic West bridge. It was carrying oranges.
I was hit with a tsunami of oranges coming down the street as they blew out the back of the truck. I was driving a pickup truck at the time and borrowed a wide-mouth shovel from one of the neighbours, loaded up the back of my truck and gave away oranges all day.
That bridge has been too low for generations.
