I had the pleasure of hanging out with my grandson during the Christmas break.

Victoria offered a lot of things to do, from a quick nine at the Ridge golf course, a skate at the outdoor rink near West Hills, a movie at the Odeon, a dog at the Beacon Drive Inn.

Sadly, a walk along the breakwater was not the same, as it was closed due to safety concerns. It was a strange closing, as people were allowed to walk on the lower portion, where we also proceeded.

This walk alarms me, as there are cracks and gaps large enough to lose small dogs or children. Another example of the left hand not watching the right, I guess.
