Apparently, nearly two-thirds of Canadians live in a province that will observe Family Day this month. What a wonderful opportunity this provides for time spent with our relatives, kin and connections.

Sadly, members of our Canadian Armed Forces, who keep all Canadians (with or without families) safe, will not be afforded this luxury, as they work for the federal government.

I am appalled that this holiday is only provincially, and not federally, supported.
