When I read about the Church of England synod voting down a measure to consecrate women as bishops, I was saddened.
Fifty years ago, as the daughter of the rector's warden and granddaughter of the immediate past rector, I asked why girls couldn't take up collection and punctuated my sentence with: "Don't you trust us?"
The current situation isn't what I would call progress. What are you men afraid of?
