As an Alzheimer sufferer, I have found it helpful to be upfront about this disease. For instance, if making an inquiry over the phone, I always start with “I am an Alzheimer sufferer and therefore will need you to be a little patient with me regarding my inquiry.”
People are so very willing to assist in explaining any facts clearly without overburdening me with too many minor details. Try it — it works.
