Re: "Ferries should consider no-fee advance booking," Nov. 12
George Creek is absolutely correct in asking B.C. Ferries to institute a no-fee booking system. Everybody who uses the system - transport drivers, business travellers and tourists - would benefit.
Most travellers know when they will need to use the ferry, and knowing that they have reserved spots would make for much happier ferry users.
If a traveller suddenly needs to use a ferry, a phone call or online query will provide the first crossing available. So much more sensible than wasting time in a terminal parking lot.
B.C. Ferries would certainly benefit from knowing traffic in advance, and payment when the booking is made. Your car's licence-plate number would be your boarding pass - very simple.
