Fight the bridge by going online

The prospect that the Johnson Street Bridge replacement project could be pushed through so quickly, when this was not even on the radar a few months ago, without thoroughly investigating if it is desirable or even considered necessary by city residents or property owners, is obscene.

To do this with borrowed money at a time of huge financial trouble all over the Western world is absolutely irresponsible.

It is barbaric to even contemplate removing our iconic bridge with a soulless modern replacement. For about half the cost, the bridge should be renovated and thereafter maintained regularly. It should be designated as a historic structure.

Let every resident of our lovely city determine to fight this nonsense by completing an elector response form available from City Hall or on line at johnsonstreetbridge.org.
