Camosun College has launched a shuttle-bus service to connect its Lansdowne and Interurban campuses, and to give West Shore residents another travel option.

The Camosun Express, a $20,000 pilot project that will run until March 31, is a vehicle with room for 20 passengers and up to four bicycles. It also features Wi-Fi access.

All services are free for Camosun students and staff.

Travel is offered on three routes each day, including a morning commute from the West Shore (with pick-up points at City Centre Park and the Six Mile Pub) to Interurban, Lansdowne and back to Interurban.

The midday route is an inter-campus run from Lansdowne to Interurban to Lansdowne.

The afternoon shuttle starts at Interurban and goes to Lansdowne, then back to Interurban and the West Shore.

The goal is to reduce the cost of reimbursing staff for travel between campuses.
