I was one of the 1,400 people sent letters from the provincial government about the security breach.
In the letter, they told me that all my personal information had been compromised and the RCMP were investigating. They advised me of the telephone numbers for TransUnion and Equifax and to alert them to possible identity fraud.
This government employee was allowed to work for seven months after they found him to be in possession of this information -- my information! -- and was just suspended and fired in the last 30 days. I don't get that.
I guess people like myself who are on medical disability are easy targets for this type of fraud. I hope those involved are prosecuted and do prison time.
